\Setouchi Triennale 2025 Opening/

The Setouchi Triennale 2025 has opened! This marks Higashikagawa City’s first participation in the Setouchi Triennale. Our city will participate during the summer session (Friday, August 1 – Sunday, August 31).
Workshops for creating artworks will also be held multiple times from April to June, so be sure to check them out. We are also currently collecting used clothing for artwork creation!

◆Crochet Workshop
Working together with local residents, we will create a large crocheted piece shaped like a glove.
The completed work is scheduled to be exhibited at the Higashikagawa Glove Gallery during the Summer Session of the Setouchi Triennale 2025.

◆Used Clothing Collection
For Leonid Tishikov’s (Russia) work at the Higashikagawa Glove Gallery, part of the Setouchi Triennale 2025, we will create crocheted pieces shaped like “gloves” together with local residents.
We are seeking donations of used fabric as material for this project.
Collection Box Location: 1st Floor, Hikida Branch Office, Higashikagawa City Hall
Collection Period: Thursday, April 17th to Saturday, June 7th, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
We are seeking soft, easy-to-cut fabrics in bright colors. (※Please avoid dark colors)
◯ Easy-to-knit materials: Cotton, linen, polyester/rayon blend T-shirts, dresses, etc.
× Hard-to-knit materials: Knits, wool, chiffon, organza, denim, canvas
Used clothing will be cut into thin strips, wound into yarn balls, and used for creating pieces.
Bringing your own used clothing to the workshop is also very welcome!
◆Artist Introduction
Leonid Tsishkov was born in 1953 in Nizhny Sergi (former Soviet Union) and resides in Moscow (Russia). A leading artist in contemporary Russian art. Since 2003, he has traveled to dozens of countries worldwide—including Romania, Ukraine, France, the Arctic, and the United States—carrying his moon objects. He photographs these objects within each location’s landscape, connecting the world under the same moonlight through his project “My Moon Journey.”
