We’re looking for “Bamboo Lantern Volunteers”! Your thoughts will brighten up the night in Setouchi Triennale Hiketa!
Join the “Bamboo Lantern” project that will light up the night in the Hiketa area of the Setouchi Triennale 2025 and liven up the art festival!
This activity involves placing bamboo lanterns along the artwork viewing route, which act as guideposts and add to the atmosphere of the cityscape at night.
Why not join us with friends, family, or colleagues for a rare experience of helping to liven up the Setouchi Triennale, a special festival that takes place once every three years? We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy connecting with art and people while lighting the bamboo lanterns to create a fantastic nighttime landscape❗
１ Activity Dates and Times
Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from Saturday, August 9th to Sunday, August 31st, 2025
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (May be canceled due to rain, etc.)
２ Number of Participants
4 participants per day (2 groups, 1-2 participants per group)）
３ Activity Description
Meeting Point: Higashikagawashi Tsubasakoryu Center (つばさ交流センター)
①5:00PM〜
After the morning assembly (explanation of activities), each participant will walk the art route individually as a preliminary investigation.
②6:15PM〜
Split into two groups and set up bamboo lanterns in designated locations.
Place a lamp inside the lantern and light it.
●While the number of lanterns and their locations have been decided, participants are free to decide on the design and color of their lanterns.☺️
③8:40PM〜
Taking into consideration the number of attendees, we will collect the lanterns and gather at the Tsubasa Community Center to finish by 9:00 PM.
