Frequently Asked Question! How to Get to Tanoura Beach
At information centers and rest stops, we often get asked, “Where was this photo taken?” when people see the winning entry from the Higashikagawa City Photo Contest (first image) or the Setouchi Triennale poster (second image)❗

Both were taken at Tanoura Beach in Hiketa, Higashikagawa City📷
Today, I’ll show you how to get from JR Hiketa Station to Tanoura Beach. I’ll guide you with photos so even first-time visitors can go with peace of mind✨
First, we depart from Hiketa Station❗

Turn left onto National Route 11 in front of Hiketa Station and head toward Takamatsu.

Turn right at the next visible intersection with traffic lights.

Continue straight ahead, and you’ll see the Marunaka Hikita Store on your left. Pass it, and you’ll see the bridge.

Cross this bridge and continue straight ahead. You will see Shiogama Shrine on your right; turn right at the road just before it. Continuing straight will take you toward Marilecco and Wasan-tei.

Continue straight ahead, and you will see the Matsubara Clock Tower.

Pass through here and continue straight ahead past Oike Auto Campground. You will come to a three-way intersection with a convex mirror; continue straight ahead from there.

Please proceed straight ahead to reach the parking lot❗ There are restrooms and showers just before the parking lot✨

This parking lot can accommodate approximately 15 vehicles (free of charge)🚙

Stepping out of the car, the gentle sea view spreads out before you🌊

As you proceed further inside, you’ll reach the photo and poster area, where you can enjoy the especially beautiful scenery on sunny days. ✨

However, please note that the scenery changes with the tides, so kindly check the details below beforehand.
