Please stop by Kukai Cafe (rest area)♪
I visited Kukai Cafe, which also serves as one of the rest areas. ✨ The moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a warm welcome. ☺ The people who greeted me were, from the right: Chinami Takada, Chairperson of the Wind Port Urban Development Network; Manabu Nakajima, also a member of the Wind Port Urban Development Networkand representing the Higashikagawa Sightseeing Boat Association; and Kazumi Akamatsu, an illustrator and member of the Wind Port Urban Development Network❗

Before entering the rest area, my eyes were drawn to this artwork! It’s a lovely piece featuring cute animals painted by Mr. Akamatsu, all on a pilgrimage 🎵

And wouldn’t you like to try this pilgrim cosplay? ☺ Since we could take photos in front of this artwork, we snapped a commemorative shot✨

Powerful calligraphy pieces, colorful floral art—each petal here bears messages written by visitors during the Hinamatsuri festival and the Seto Art Triennale period♬

You’ve written so much about the charm of the Hiketa area, and the idea of letting each message bloom as one large flower is wonderful—it felt like part of the Setouchi Triennale art itself❗

Drinks are also available for 200 yen each🎵 Please note they do not give change❕ The location is a short distance from the Setouchi Triennale artworks area, but it’s a 5-10 minute walk from JR Hiketa Station, near Manshoji Temple. It can accommodate about 15 people, so please stop by whether before viewing the artworks or after you’re tired from seeing them✨ You’ll definitely feel rejuvenated by the incredibly warm hospitality☺
Please see below for the location!
