Let’s Build a Flying Object! ①
On July 13th and 19th, I participated in a workshop to assemble a flying object based on gloves designed by Leonid Tishkov – an artist whose work will be exhibited at the Higashikagawa City Glove Gallery. ✨

We will create an object like this and hang it in the attic of the Higashikagawa City Glove Gallery❗
First, we start by cutting a plate to fit the glove pattern.

It’s easy to cut simple shapes like circles and squares, but when it comes to cutting gloves, the fingers are extremely difficult! The participants used scissors and trimmers to try all sorts of different cutting methods ✂

With everyone’s cooperation, we are able to create challenging shapes one after another❗

After making the clear plates, I made colored plates on another day. Red, green, and blue were combined to create vibrant colors ✨

Towards the end, someone who had gotten the hang of it taught us, “You can cut the finger part more neatly if you cut it like this!” – we helped each other with the difficult steps and finally finished! 😊

The assembly process continues in the next blog…🎵
